The application deadline is April 1, 2020. Announcement of the scholarship winners will be made by April 10, 2020. All applicants will receive the results by email. Results will also be posted on the Maryland Summer Jazz website.
Our philosophy at Maryland Summer Jazz and with all our scholarship programs is to be inclusive, and to provide a fun opportunity for musical and personal growth. We want all people who are interested in learning jazz and improvisation to have that experience available and open to them.
We welcome ALL applicants, from All-State musicians to those who have never played jazz before and those who don’t play a “traditional” jazz instrument (i.e. bassoon, tuba, flute, cello etc.). Scholarship winners are chosen based on previous achievement, enthusiasm, financial need, stated goals, and evidence of untapped talent.
